This Next Season Thing

Why is it that there seems to be this idea that this is going to be our only shot at the title for years? I don't get it - this feels to me like only the start for a young team of players and a young manager, even if we don't win it this time around.

 

Surely the average age of our first team means we are likely to get better? Surely FFP is going to at least limit the ability of Chelsea and City to spend unlimited amounts? Surely United have a gigantic rebuilding task? What is it that suggests we're a flash in the pan? This could be the beginning of a generation of success.

 

I think it's unfair and a bit disrespectful of Rodgers and what he has achieved this season to say this is going to be a one off. I don't think that will be the case at all - in fact I'm feeling quite the opposite. Keep hearing commentators say it though.
