3 definite upgrades available in Klopp, Ancelloti and Benitez.

Will that standard of manager be available again?

Not in December. We'll need Pulis by then to keep us up.

whether there are leaks or not, news organisations do not need whispers out of the football club to run all sorts of contradictory stories that will eventually come to cover every possible f***ing outcome. this is the case for every football club out there. about 1% of the things that ever happen in football come as any sort of surprise. and most of those are resignations.

Liverpool FC insist Brendan Rodgers’ position is not under immediate threat as the club prepare to launch a review into their disastrous season.

Boss looks set to get chance to convince FSG he's right man for the job

A crestfallen Rodgers admitted his job was on the line after the Reds were humiliated in Sunday’s 6-1 defeat to Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.

However, sources close to Fenway Sports Group have played down speculation that the Northern Irishman will be sacked following the Reds’ sixth placed finish.

Rodgers, who is only 12 months into a four-year contract, looks set to given the opportunity to convince the owners that he can turn things around after a disastrous two months that saw Liverpool take just eight points out of the last 27 on offer.

Much will depend on the outcome of the review which will be spearheaded by FSG president Mike Gordon. Rodgers will certainly have some uncomfortable questions to answer after the Reds fell a long way short of achieving their target of Champions League qualification.

A similar review resulted in the sacking of Kenny Dalglish three years ago and it remains to be seen whether Rodgers suffers the same fate,

Most of the first-team squad flew to Dubai in the wake of Liverpool’s mauling at the hands of Stoke. The trip had been planned for a number of weeks as a send-off for departing captain Steven Gerrard.

Rodgers, who never intended to join them in the Middle East, has remained behind. He is scheduled to attend the League Managers Association annual awards dinner at Old Billingsgate in London on Tuesday night.

The 42-year-old will reflect on what a difference a year makes. At the 2014 event he was crowned Manager of the Year by his peers after overseeing a thrilling title challenge which saw Liverpool narrowly miss out on the Premier League title.

Twelve months on he’s fighting for his future as FSG consider their options.

Ancelotti having a year off to get his back sorted. Rafa going to Madrid to replace Ancelotti.

Might as well get 'Arry in, now that he's got his knee fixed

yeah, and that's what straight-batting it looks like, off the record.

"we'll sit down and discuss, but no plans to remove manager at the moment."

Could well end up being constructive dismissal imo.

Nothing in this surprises, they just leaking we will do our review as per the process and take it from there.

Basically saying we will control agenda not Twitter, forums, or media.

Personally I think he will stay but on last warning, CL or sack next season , plus he will be forced to work with a DOF.

As the piece says, the situation is very similar to the one that Kenny found himself in.

If the whole situation didn't make me feel ill to the pit of my stomach I think I would look to find which bookies are giving the best odds on BR being removed.

Their club, their money, their assets. That's how they see us, right?

I don't get how they can view his management of their assets (either not playing them at all or if he did then not where or how they should) as anything other than atrocious.
