Already looks too good for anyone in his division, two weight world champion at 23. An easy fighter to hate given his persona but he looks to have the chops to back it all up, Gavin Rees was dismantled last night and he is a hard lad with only 1 previous defeat. Could see him going up to 147lbs eventually as he looks really strong at 135lbs.

He's a great fighter but an absolute weapon

he is, he occasionally drops the big head stuff and seems OK but is always there. I'd love to see him get sparked out but it could be a way off.

agree with all of that. hate all that stuff. it seems so forced

  • 4 months later...

anyone watch him last night v malignaggi ? sounded a poor display at 147lbs.

He was better than Malignaggi, all ends up.

That said, he kneed Paulie during Malignaggi holding him, there was elbows, punches on the break etc he should have been deducted points, at least 4.

The boy is a good boxer, but, if you can get under his skin that quickly, he will have problems.

He's got a long way to go to prove himself at 147. Malignaggi is pretty average and he caused him loads of problems

Yep, Paulie landed plenty of shots but has very little power and never has.

Someone who can hit will be serious problem for Broner. Rees doesnt really have power either.

Be interesting to see where they take him next.

Devon Alexander please.

I think Khan would deal with him to be honest

There are a lot of big hitting boxers at 147. It wouldn't surprise me if they moved him back down again

And give the belt up?

Wouldnt surprise me either.

The key thing here is to develop his reputation and they will not risk such a prospect against some of the other 147 fighters when there will be some big money around him in a year or 2
