My son, born at 25 weeks

Hello forum people,

I don't really know any of you, but I've been around for 6 or 7 years on & off and I do feel a certain kinship here. Not just LFC, but also the humour and the outlook.

Sometimes I think it helps to put things, challenges/problems whatever out there, with a certain degree of anonymity.

So for the 2nd time in my life I have become a father to a very premature son. My first was born at 27 weeks in 2008 weighing 2lb and the journey was a long and arduous emotional experience.

He celebrated his 5th birthday on Sunday and all is well with him now. On Monday though my partner gave birth at 25 weeks to my son weighing 1lb 12 oz (800 gms)

To be back in this place is truly very hard to contemplate, but here I am (and 2 weeks - an absolute age in this context - further back to boot) and I must get on with it and deal with it.

I am not a religious person, but I am not an unbeliever either, and I have always been open minded about higher powers and all that. Be a good person, do the right things and, well hopefully that's enough you know?

And as I sit here back in my house after another day at the hospital, well if any of you 'recognise' me from here and you have any positive energy, good will, prayer or whatever then I will take whatever I can get.

Thanks
