Pc help sanity help

As per rant in IRR. I tried to download the new version of iTunes to fix my iPod and it has now wrecked my laptop. I cannot get the laptop to switch on again, even if I try it in safe mode. Please help me fix this before I go postal in the apple shop tomorrow. I need my laptop working ASAP
