It all seems so plausible...

The newly opened Giant's Causeway Centre has included a creationist viewpoint that gives legitimacy to the insane postulation that the basalt volcanic formation came about within the previous 6000 years!!!

WTF???

how many fecking creationist (a****** loonies) are there in Ireland anyway? Or is this for our American cousins?

A creationist is just someone who believes in life and the universe being created by a God isn't it? There's loads here!

kind of, but believing in god - or being religious - doesn't mean you believe everything was created 6k years ago, or whenever.

You can believe in god & evolution....

I don't see why these d****eads can't believe that god 'created' evolution as well rather than evolution & god being unable to co-exist

Ah right. Still a fair few 'creationists' over here in that case.

The DUP are usually all over this kind of nonsense.

Its because some of them make a point of principle of the book being the absolute truth. Its fecking mental from the kick off. All that stuff in revelations, all of the mistreatment of women, the contradictions, all of it unarguable truth in their world.

So The Bible - a book written by man, and translated from language to language, over thousands of years and at the whims of and ti suit many-a-Pope in that time, MAY NOT BE THE LITERAL TRUTH?

Like, you mean, it could have been manipulated? For someone's benefit?

no. way.

It was an Ulster prod who first came up with the 6,000 years nonsense in the mid 17th century when James Ussher, Archbishop of Armagh, "calculated" the first day of creation as Sunday 23 October 4004 BC.

You can and many do, but evolution causes several theological problems for christianity.

Sky Sports would have had a field day marketing and promoting that particular Sunday.

We also had an environment minister that doesn't believe in climate change and another minister that regularly hosts a Friends of Israel event, a Zionist Christian, who believes that God's promised land of Israel needs to be fulfilled to create heaven on Earth.

Unsurprisingly, both are members of the DUP.

It's because their bible says otherwise

Go down the "bible is the perfect word of god with the following exceptions" road and who knows where it could lead

God wouldn't allow that (if He existed)

Noticed a new word dropped in to the Mass last Sunday; Dewfall.

Yet another allusion that it's all just Sun-worship.

Eh?

Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,

What does that have to do with Sun worship?
