WHAT A HAT TRICK1

That's got to be up there with the best - wet evening in 'Whicker Man' country an all that - but what's your favourite Liverpool hat trick?

That's a tough one, but Suarez's is up there for being clincial on all three occasions. He had no right to score from the positions he was in, his 2nd is my favourite, absolute bullet, accuracy and power to find the corner from there.

Take your pick... LFC Hat-tricks

I like Rushies against Villa in 84 particularly his 3rd, sublime skill.

Was a quality hat-trick. I really liked the finish for the second because it's seen so rarely - outside of the foot / shooting across the ball from the angle so the ball moves away from the keeper and back inside the post. Almost without exception that shot is drilled straight or with the instep and curling the opposite way.

Their defence being shyte helped but it would be nice to see Suarez rip Terry apart next week

That list is brilliant - what memories!

You're right about Rushie's v Villa - have a foggy memory* of watching that on Sportsnight and his third being a spectacular left foot volley into the roof of the net.

*accuracy of memories can go down as well as up

great commentary today -

"The first was good, the second was even better, but the third was out of this world..."

I am actually starting to notice a softening of attitudes from commentators towards Suarez when he goes down, I am guessing that it's down to this whole Young diving routine that has benn highlighted recently.

Rush at Blackburn in the league cup

the hat trick goal is at 3:30 here

I remember the commentator - mcaffrey, I think - said 'Ian Rush...the name just says it all' and it was cos it was likely his last hat-trick for us that everyone went berzerk.
