Actually, he impressed me last night more than most as he actually did some work and ran forwards and backwards. Not sure it made up for a lack of talent but he put in a shift. Unlike the two senior midfielders he was notionally in front of.

I missed the first few minutes yesterday so didn't see the line-up, so it was a genuine surprise when Sigurdsson was subbed in the second half because I hadn't realised he was on the pitch up until then.

 

And I had a quick look at a couple of Ev forums earlier on today - a few posts rationalising yesterday by saying that they can now concentrate on the league.

He was madly overpriced at the time. That sort of money for a player in that position he needs to be really good and you need to build your team and way of playing around him. He was never good enough for that.
