There have been all sorts of suggestions as to what supporters can do to make their feelings known about the ownership situation but none so far have won universal support, from boycotts to blockades, walk outs to sit ins, black flags or vuvuzelas, wallet throwing or the burning of texan bits of cloth.

All have their pros and cons and have been debated to the point of inaction, but with very few exceptions it seems that most of us on here at least agree that oct 6 is a watershed date, and that if we don't come together now and make our protest then we probably never will.

Isn't it time we put our differences to one side and had a go at achieving something we all want for our club? So long as all demonstrations of our dismay at the current situation are peaceful (and so far they all have been) shouldn't we hold fire on arguments about the manager, the formation and all those short term issues and find a way to unite under one banner?

The method should be whatever you feel is appropriate. So long as it is something, you aren't doing nothing and that is what counts right now.

No matter what happens in october we should all want to look back and say 'yeah I had a go'. If you are boycotting you can still go to the ground and do something. If you know what you want to do then post it and let others who don't know use the idea.

No plan will suit everyone, we should know that by now, but so long as we all share the same goal there should be little need to criticise someone else's chosen method - the only division on the day of the Blackpool game should be between the do somethings and the do nothings.

Which side are you on? Tell us what you plan to do.

Well I am boycotting this season, haven't been to any home games and will refuse to do so until they are gone. However I will happily drive to the city and be involved in any march, protest, blockade or anything else, we are only going to get one chance at this, smithdown is right, inactivity is not an option!

mate, yet again i didn't get a chance to logon to here last night as i was going to PM you about sorting out this blockade.. that said, this 'do something day' is a brilliant idea and one we need to try and push.. it's more than likely i won't have a lot of time tonight but i'll jump on and PM you (or PM your email address to me) and we'll sort something out..

for others on the forum that are aware of something i'm working on (namely N & G) - i have received responses from all those i contacted and still nothing has happened.. i'm going to bring it into the open this week when i get a chance i think.. apologies i haven't had a chance to respond to your last mails..

does the response to this thread indicate where we are? like, only 9 people have given any input to this thread..

"can't someone else do it?"

"what good will it do?"

what's with the malaise?.. why aren't people that bothered like?.. why aren't people standing up for what they believe in? we know we can make a difference if we put our minds to it.. if any clubs fans have history of getting things done and making a difference then it's ours - so, i ask again, why aren't people bothered like?..

Like I said Owen, I'm willing to attend a blockade, but I imagine a one man blockade would be pretty pointless. There needs to be some cohesion, someone willing to organise it. I originally responded to your post which sounded like you were organising something via pm's, forgive me if I misread.

But just to confirm to either you or anyone else I will be a body in a blockade at the Blackpool game.

Been knocked out of them Owen.

Don't know about that. Hardly anyone has done anything yet.

Unless you are referring to society as whole, like.

C'med folks! Are you really going to just have a few pints and go and take your seat in the ground (or the alehouse) and do nothing? Again?

I don't want to do nothing - and I am volunteering, conditional on another 2000 or so doing the same

they can all volunteer conditionally and that way nobody is left standing on their own

why they don't do so is a mystery to me

I think this is a big part of it. It's a different world to the world of 1990 and the poll tax demo.

What would make people take to the streets nowadays? I maintain that the government are only just realising how much they can get away with.

Doesn't need 2000 to start doing something. If a few of us start then it will grow.

As a start I'm happy to put together a mailing list of KNOWN members of the site to help with communication. Feel free to email me if you want adding to this.

1. If you email me you are not committing to anything.

2. Only established, known, members will be added. Wayne, Sutty, Molby, Knox, Smithy et al no probs, Hansen don't even bother.

2a. If you don't get added don't take it personally. It will initially be kept to known people who want to be involved in action.

2b. I will not be acting as a prima donna - if this works I won't own it nor will I retain ownership of who can be added. I will take the advice of people like Knox and be happy to hand it over if it's deemed useful by them.

3. If you wish to add a phone number, home or mobile, name etc. If you wish just leave it at an email addy

4. Once I have a number of responses the contact list will be circulated to everyone who wishes to be added.

email me at yanks.out@hotmail.co.uk

Nice one mate.

Yes, apologies if that sounded like I was knocking back your post. It wasn't particularly responding to it as throwing something out there.

It might be best for you chaps to do the early days of organising this via emails or through mobile phones. If you're planning a blockade etc there needs to be a spontaneous element to it and it'll certainly help if the club don't know about it all in advance, which isn't guaranteed by sorting out key details on a (sort of) public forum.
