Watched the bbc documentary on Stiff last night. Very good & quite amusing. Never paid that much attention to labels way back then, so didn't realize half of those artists were on Stiff.

 

by the end, they did seem to have gone from standing against the machine & were putting out some dross - albeit commercially successful - which was what they initially started out to avoid.
