calling up Neville is completely bizarre. He's hardly played this season, and when he has, he's looked an absolute liability.

 

In terms of the Keeper position - no surprise some people are talking about Almunia playing for England. Between him, Green, Carson and Robinson, it's a matter of selecting the keeper who makes the fewest horrible mistakes. Robinson at least has the experience, but still has a problem actually diving since his weight means that gravity plays a far stronger part than for most keepers.

 

Carson is remarkable for the fact that he's actually conceded more goals than he's faced shots on target.

As for Neville. Completely bizarre. Capello is almost buying into this "old Utd player being incredible" philosophy which won Giggs and Scholes plaudits for being average this season.

if ever this was a time to put a young player in the squad, this was it. however, yet another England manager goes back to the tried and trusted England manner of never taking a chance.
