Terrific bowler at his peak. Mismanaged by Pakistan and never got his head sorted when things werent going his way. Still, he's one of my favourite bowlers that i've had the luck to watch live.

overrated as hell.. as for being mismanaged.. how did you come to that conclusion.. he will be penniless in 10-15 years such is his lifestyle..

Akhtar was an exciting bowler to watch. I loved watching him bowl.

Think he chased the 100 mile/hour ball for a lot of the early part of the career and the coaching sides should have got his mentality sorted, especially as he tends to get injured a lot. I cant believe that he's only played 46 tests till date. Of course, he should've been the first fella to improve on his attitude and shoulders a lot of blame himself.

Pakistan have had a lot of talented quicks come through in the last decade and quite a few amongst those has had to deal with many injury problems. Same for India, but without the 'many talented quicks' part. Something's wrong somewhere with the management of these.

I know I've slagged cricket in the past, but I've been spending some time with my father-in-law recently (he loves cricket) and I'm beginning to get strangely drawn to the sport. The ODI between England and the Windies was on today, and there were a good couple of wickets taken by on bowler in particular, but I can't remember his name?
