Tell me about it, and now we have it on this forum, not getting likes and laughing smileys for a post can really hurt someone's self esteem

Teen Wolf. Still sublime.

Did you watch Up and Downfall first? Wouldn't really make sense unless you had the whole series.

I'm assuming there's another brilliant film by the same name.

You sure you didn't watch citizen Khan by mistake?

It's the most overrated best movie of all time ever. I've got half a dozen Ealing Studios films that are better and it isn't fit to polish Casablanca's boots. I don't think it's even the best Orson Welles film.

Metropolis was a technical marvel. The Third Man is better lit and better produced and filmed and a much more interesting story. Citizen Kane is just overrated for me and there were loads of films made in the 40s that stand up way better. Bogart alone has half a dozen films better than it.

I think we'll never know how important and great it is because we've not lived through an era where movies were as technically immature, where dialogue was stilted, where cameras were static, where acting was stagey, where there is unedited long-shot after long-shot, where background music wasn't used etc. The leaps forward that Welles made with Kane were astonishing and there's no way to appreciate those really unless you sit through a month of Lionel Barrymore domestic dramas before you watch it.

I agree that the Third Man is better though. Amazing film.

I only saw that this year. I thought it was good. Sad mind you.

It probably is a good film but sometimes the disappointment of something not being as good as you remember is a killer
