SkippyjonJones Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 (edited) U12 recreation leagues. So all teams are drawn at random from kids with a range of skills. The idea is that the teams are about even with a mix of good and not so good players. We ended up with a good team and they played well all year. The only game they lost was when they got knocked out of the city cup to a team from a different league. The coach of that team is also on the board of the league and a sponsor. Oddly enough the team he coaches is picked by him and hasn't lost in several years. We were playing them again the the state finals today. changed our team around a little from the previous game. And them absolutley battered them. 2-0 up in 8 minutes. 4-1 at half time. 5-2 the final score. Not sure they have ever been behind in a game and they didn;t have a clue how to cope. once their fast wingers were shut down they ran out of ideas. Our lot were fantastic. no panic. played huge games and best of all played in the positions allocated to them and covered each other as a team. f***ing hell I was nervous after the first 2 goals..... The other team - shook hands at the end of the game and cleared off. They didn;t even wait for their runners up medals or the trophy presentation. We've just left a massive party!!! I present to you the u12 (Recreational league) State CHAMPIONS for New Hampshire. Proud parent and coach. off to have a wee drop of wine now! Edited November 3, 2007 by SkippyjonJones
