'Trout Mask Replica' is up there as a genuine classic/seminal album...that said, there is no particular reason anyone much under 40 should have necessarily gone out of their way to hear it, as it was never 'mainstream' as many well regarded albums are or where.

If you haven't heard it, you may find itt odd but worth the effort.

No, On A Plain was great you cloth eared hippy.

It's true though, if you can get past the Cult of Kurt bulls*** (which lets face it was tedious enough when the c*** was alive) they were a cracking band.

Come As You Are and Negative Creep would be good shouts too.

currently listening to a compilation of roxy music's first three albums a colleague burned for me.

Now that's all good stuff. When you say compilation though, I dread to think what he must have left off.

Interesting - was never a big fan at the time, but they do sound good now - weird, but not an uncommon phenomenon!

Tonight -

The Essential Clash

Shaved Fish - Lennon

Dusseldorf - La Dusseldorf

Symphony No2 (Ressurection) - Mahler

Note : The reason for the edit was I did have one of the wife's CD's in the mix - 'When in Rome' - Penguin Café Orchestra - however, it lasted about two minutes....
