His must have been a huge fine :)

League Two side Wrexham have today thanked Craig Bellamy after the Liverpool striker made a generous donation to assist the club's battle to stay in the Football League.

The Welsh club currently lie in the relegation places at the foot of the table but Bellamy's donation has enabled them to bring in three players on loan for the remaining eight games of the season.

"The Directors of Wrexham FC would personally like to say a very big thank you on behalf of all our supporters to Wales' own Craig Bellamy for the very generous donation he has made to Wrexham Football Club," read a statement from the Welsh club.

"We feel very honoured and privileged that Craig has chosen to help Wrexham FC and Welsh football in this manner.

"He will always receive a warm welcome at the Racecourse Ground and is indeed a Welsh hero."

Bellamy - who made his Liverpool debut at the Racecourse Ground in a pre-season friendly last summer - is keen to ensure the survival of a club close to his heart.

"Being a proud Welshman and supporter of Welsh football, I feel it's important that Wrexham retain their place in The Football League and I hope this gesture can help," he said.

"I have a lot of friends playing at the club and have enjoyed some memorable times at the Racecourse, especially when I was given the Captain's armband for my country.

"I also remember the wonderful reception from the local fans when I made my Liverpool debut there in a pre-season friendly."

Liverpool spokesman Ian Cotton said: "It was the players themselves who suggested that any fines following the training camp in Portugal should be donated to good causes.

"Local charities in Liverpool will benefit, but Craig was keen to help Wrexham as well."

Sound sliek he asked for his fines to be given to them, as opposed to digging into his own pocket.

That's because that's what happened. Does that mean he shouldn't be applauded?

Bellamy has been a disappointment... a huge disappointment.

His behaviour has been attrocious, but we have to be thankful to his goal in Spain.

Bye bye Craig, good luck at villa.

Oh do shut up. How about credit where credit is due - which is what this thread is about

Well I'm sure you'll be delighted to know we've turned down a bid from Villa for Bellamy and Rafa has said he has a a big future at the club.

'A huge disappointment' is and 'atrocious behaviour' are just odd things to say, just wrong in terms of his performances and completely over the top in relation to his 'behaviour'. For me he has been one of our best players in 2007.

Is that you John Arne? Come on, don't bear a grudge and watch how you talk about Villa; if Aurelio keeps playing as well as he is and Insua continues his development, you might find yourself there...:)
