Internationinteroperability Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Great performance in general today. Especially second half where our lads stepped up a gear or two. Also great to see Pennant shining!
shanks59 Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Great performance in general today. Especially second half where our lads stepped up a gear or two. Also great to see Pennant shining! 1. Gerrard. 2. Carragher. 3. Garcia. IMO, Best Team performance of the season

Stevie H Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 id go with that but i'd have riise a 5 and pennant a 6hehe. pennant played well today man.
anny road Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 id go with that but i'd have riise a 5 and pennant a 6 sorry mate but giving Pennant a 6 is total horse s****
Maldini Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Reina - 8 - only tested twice, but did well on each occasion, his distribution was great tooFinnan - 8 - Was Boa Morte even playing? Got forward to good effect tooCarra - 8 - his usual selfAgger - 8 - helps create space for our midfield by bringing the ball outRiise - 6 - was caught out of position too oftenPennant - 8 - looked a lot more confident, not afraid to take a risk, still needs to be more aggressive thoughXabi - 9 - What a man MOTMGerrard - 7 - good disciplined performance from him, timed his runs wellGarcia - 7 - looked a threat, great goalKuyt - 7 worked his b******s off as ever, linked up well, should have scored one of those three he fluffed thoughBellamy - 7 - worked hard, looked more of a threat than he has in the past
shanks59 Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Dont forget Reina's early save Reina 7Finnan 8Carragher 7Agger 7Riise 6Pennant 8Gerrard 7Alonso 8 (MOTM)Garcia 6Kuyt 6Bellamy 7 8 for Pennant (he was decent) is a bit kneejerk, still quite a few examples of lack of bottle, he didn't have anything to do with any of the goals ...
Rimbeux Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 8 for Pennant (he was decent) is a bit kneejerk, still quite a few examples of lack of bottle, he didn't have anything to do with any of the goals ... Yeh the s*** out early on pissed me off, but he played very well, and you can't hold it against him that others didn't convert the chances he created
Conor Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 He was great today.. He Kept the his position which added to the shape and overall balance and think that was a real aspect of his play that he had to look at which he did. He played like an out and out winger today and Liam Rosenior -who is a good little player- was glad to see the back of him i'm sure. An extra mention for Steve Finnan. He's brilliant and I wouldn't swap him for any other right back in the premiership. If Alves does come in he will have a his work cut out to put Steve Finnan out of the team.
Mike Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 hehe. pennant played well today man. well for pennant maybe.tell me this then, are the scores marked against the players ability or against what an 8 out of 10 performance for a footballer should look like, cos lets be honest that might have been a 7 or an 8 out of 10 for pennant but it how the f*** is that an 8 out of 10 performance for a winger...one more point and he'd be world class? come on.
Ripley Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Pennant was Ok but not as good as Garcia. An example to Crouch in how to get pace on a header. Finnan was outstanding and added value to Pennant's performance. Riise was very poor and hopefully the fourth goal may put a stop to him having shots charged down after a free kick is rolled to him..
realtarragona Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I thought Garcia was quite poor until his goal but fair enough that was a brilliant header and he played better after that.
Mike Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I thought Garcia was quite poor until his goal but fair enough that was a brilliant header and he played better after that. he was absolute s**** until he scored lets be honest...he was doing my head in.but thats Garcia isn't it. he was born to make fans chew on their words, he's a slaggers nightmare.
realtarragona Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Haha yeah I was being a bit kind to put it mildly. Good goal though. Reminds me of the one he scored against Anderlecht (I think). Not many players could have scored that.
shanks59 Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 he was absolute s**** until he scored lets be honest...he was doing my head in.but thats Garcia isn't it. he was born to make fans chew on their words, he's a slaggers nightmare. He is prepared to try the imaginative pass. This will always leave him open to criticism, as this often means he loses the ball. It's often black and white: FRUSTRATION/ELATION. Some can accept it, others go bald I admire him
