What does everyone think of Zenden?

Having not seen him play very often, but god he looked bad in that Arsenal game. Maybe he's just not a centre mid or maybe he is better as an attacking mid? But yeh every time he plays at the end of the game I just think he is rubbish.

IMO he's useful as a bit part left sided midfielder with Kewell out. However his skills should never see the light of the centre of midfield. He simply isn't good enough to play there for Liverpool Football Club.

you seem to have misunderstood the question. it's "what does everyone think of zenden?" not "what does everyone think of you?"

Exactly. He is a reasonable squad player who can play a variety of different positions.

He can be infuriating at times, but he is solid enough.

I like him - great squad player - works hard and with more time on the field will get a better understanding with his teammates.

 

Some, however, seem to have an irrational hatred of some of our players and aren't prepared to give them a chance

He's alright. I hate when he's on the wing as he's dreadful. If we're winning a game then he's great to bring on so we can rest Gerrard,Alonso or Sissoko. He won't let you down filling in but as a starter he'll never turn a game around.

 

My head drops when he comes on as a sub when we're looking for a win though.

My issues with him at Barca were not only on the pitch.

 

Once he leaves LFC I'll rail into him again, but whilst he's here I'm going to back him up.

 

I didn't think he was that bad against Arsenal. Carragher, Hyppia, Pennant, Bellamy were and have been certainly worse in matches this season.

He's a LFC player and deserves all the support he can get, but at the end of the day in the security of this forum we all know hes second rate at best. Someone called him a great squad player, no way. Hes slow, cant tackle, passings poor, immobile and only plays well against sub standard teams. Hes not good enough to play on our left and hes not good enough in the central role. We could do so much better even as a squad player and i'd prefer to give one of the youngsters a chance.

Back in the real world, Zenden is a player who does a good covering job for us when needs must, sometimes he has off days, which is something he shares with Sissiko, Alonso and Gerrard.

 

If one or two of the first team were on form, maybe our stand-in players might look as competant as Man Utd's...

I think the problem I have with him is just that. He's cover but getting far more games than he should when IMO we have better options. For example playing Gerrard on the right and starting Zenden in the middle against Arsenal and then staying on with Gonzalez going off.

Gonzalez was awful against Arsenal and was rightly substituted IMO. It should have been done at half time though.
