Elections

[PortlandRed]

In my opinion, the election process in my country (USA) is seriously flawed. What can start out as an honest campaign attempting to tackle real issues and concerns almost always turns into mud slinging. The average citizen probably couldn't tell you what the candidates stand for but they can tell you what the other candidate says they don't stand for. That's pretty much how our current president got re-elected (in my opinion). Spend you parties money telling everyone that the other guy is fvcked up and people will start to believe it, whether or not it's true gets lost in the sauce.

Is it a similar process in the UK? My knowledge of politics in the United Kingdom borders on none.
