Sickeningly syrupy story about my boy.

So we are thinking about getting a dog again and as part of this are looking into adopting one. One of the options there is to get a retired racing greyhound so as the people who place these dogs were doing a meet and greet to a local pet store then I though we?d pop along yesterday.

They were set up outside the store so me, my boy (9) and the little un went over and met the hounds and had a chat with the people who were there ? they set up with the dogs and a table of literature and a plastic jar for any donations for the upkeep of the dogs.

My little one want to go inside the store and look at the other animals so I took her in ? my boy decided to stay outside with the dogs. Whilst I was inside a sudden storm swept across and the wind really picked up. We were ok inside but I could see that some of the leaflets on the table outside had been blown away and I could see everyone scrambling to pick them up.

So I go back outside after a few minutes and the guy running the stall outside calls me over. Apparent the donation jar with the money in it (all paper money) got blown away as well ? my boy went running after it and stopped it and then ran after the money that had escaped and got that as well ? before any of the volunteers had a chance to get it. He brought it straight back to the table and as a reward the guy gave him a dollar for helping them get the money back. My boy turned straight around and put the money he?d been given into the jar to helps the dogs!! I?m extremely proud of him doing that and he was explaining that it was all about Karma and helping out others. A big thumbs up to what he did ? most unselfish act for a 9 year old!!

Of course the little b*****d had then guilted me into making a donation as well  so I?ll have to ground him for that!!!
