Martin Atkinson has been selected to referee the 2006 FA Community Shield.

 

Atkinson will take charge of the match between Chelsea and Liverpool at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on 13 August.

 

The 35-year-old from Yorkshire has been refereeing since 1986. He was promoted as a National List Referee in 2003, becoming a Select Group Referee in 2005. This year he has been promoted to the FIFA Referees List.

 

Atkinson will be supported by Assistant Referees Roger East and Shaun Proctor-Green, and Fourth Official Mark Clattenburg.
