Grim night for Democrats in SoCal

In a seat where John Kerry polled 44% in 2004, we had a Congressional Election last night. The seat was formerly held by a Republican, who is now in jail for corruption crimes, taking money from crooked lobbyists etc. Since 2004, the district witnessed his public trial and jailing, and all Bush's successes with Iraq, Hurricane Katrina, Domestic Spying etc.

 

So how much did the Democrats poll last night? 45%.

 

The Republicans ran a crooked lobbyist and won.

 

So much for 'Taking back the house'.
