--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Got to say my opinion of liverpool fans has defintely changed after todays game.....

When we picked up our runners up metals the liverpool fans all gave a continious clap until everyone of our players had picked up his metal...thought it showed true class there.

Another thing i've never seen before is the liverpool players game round to the West Ham section and clapped all the fanswith the trophy... ....couldnt f**king believe it...And west ham fans which 70% clapped the liverpool players.

And as we were walking away from the stadium the Liverpool fans in the hotels on the other side of the river clapped us all the way and leant over the railings to shake our hands....

Made you want to cry. I did.

Completely agree, I was really impressed with the Liverpool team and fans.

Granted many people weren't so pleased with the tactics of Sissoko etc, but the way that the team came around to our side and applauded us for our efforts was something I don't think I've seen before. It was a great display of sportsmanship and good to see they took the effort when they could have spent their time gloating with their own fans.

Also, I had lots of positive experiences throughout the day with Liverpool fans. Before the game, had a few wishing us and after the game, some really kind words. One told me the "better team lost" and others wished us luck for the UEFA Cup next season. The fans did their team proud, just like we did for West Ham...well, those who stayed until the VERY end that is.

Fair play to the Liverpool fans.

Even my usually mouthy Liverpool mates were sending me texts saying unlucky and that we'd played brilliantly...

about Stevie:

Quality quality player.

Lampard isnt fit to lace his boots.

Almost a one man team today, with a little bit of help from Sissoko.

Pardew:

And he revealed that as he waited for the cup to be presented he sauntered over to Gerrard with a message which will strike a chord the length and breadth of England.

Pardew said: 'I said to Steven at the end `I thought you might be saving that for the World Cup'. But maybe he has still got a few left.'

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

agree. Gerrard is much better when he's got a holding midfielder alongside him in the centre of the park. Remember last year's Champions League final: Benitez started without that holding player and Liverpool went 3:0 down, then he brought on Hamann to give Gerrard more freedom and everyone knows what happened.

But Gerrard is not the only player who plays better for his club than he does for England, and I agree with the poster who said that this is SGE's fault.

As for Gerrard's performance today, I thought he was absolute quality, but not as dominating as, for example, in that match against Milan last year.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ironic that Pardew singled him out as the only difference between the two sides. And so it proved to be. Of all the people you would not want those two loose balls to drop to....

A wonderful game, a wonderful peformance from both sides and a real shame that it had to be decided on pens.

So near, yet so far. Disappointed, but not gutted. We can be proud of our players and our club for what we've achieved in the last twelve months. We gave the FA Cup the respect it deserves this year and I'm delighted it will go down as one of the greatest.

Well done to Liverpool, as much as it pains me to say it. But Gerrard's performance today was quite exceptional. A goal as sweet as you will see for a long time. And I agree with the poster who said that if he doesn't produce that kind of performance for England, I will also be majorly pissed off.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Possibly the single greatest individual performance I have ever seen against us. Ever. The c*nt.
