Happy birthdays 1971 - Former striker Stan Collymore was born in Stone. He netted 35 times in 81 reds games after signing from Nottingham Forest for a British record £8.5m fee in July 1995. He was offloaded to Aston Villa in February 2000 for £7m, where he again failed to fulfil his potential. 1985 - Momo Sissoko was born in Mont Saint Agnain, France. Happy birthday Digger 1963 - John Barnes was born at Up Park in Kingston, Jamaica. He signed from Watford for £900,000 in June 1987, a transfer that had been heavily trailed for at least six months. Kopites were not disappointed by his performances once he had arrived, as he helped us to two League titles, FA Cup, League Cup and two FA Charity Shields during an Anfield career in which he scored 108 goals in 407 appearances. He was also twice voted Football Writers’ Player Of The Year, as well as once by his fellow players, joining Newcastle United on a free transfer in August 1997. He became

More Euro glory 2019 – We claimed the UEFA Super Cup for the fourth time, beating Chelsea 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out in Istanbul after our meeting ended 1-1 after ninety minutes, and 2-2 after extra time. Olivier Giroud scored the seventh of his eight goals past us to date in the first half, with a Sadio Mané brace either side of the full-time whistle putting us ahead. Jorginho converted a debatable penalty, before the match was decided from twelve yards. Roberto Firmino, Fabinho, Divock Origi, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah all scored before Adrián saved from Tammy Abraham. Joël M
