    Another record for St. Michael 2003 - Michael Owen became England’s youngest ever player to reach fifty caps. He captained the side, bagging a brace, including a penalty, as they beat Slovakia 2-1 in a Euro 2004 qualifier at the Riverside Stadium. Steven Gerrard and ex-red David James also played. Owen also became England’s youngest ever captain for a competitive international. On the same day, Vladimír Šmicer netted as the Czech Republic thumped Moldova 5-0 in another qualifier in Olomouc, with clubmate Milan Baroš also playing.     In rides a knight 1959 - ‘Sir’ Roger Hunt signed for the reds from Stockton Heath. He netted 285 times in 492 reds games, and his 244 League goals remain a club record.
