Double reds debutants 1974 - Reds legends Terry McDermott and Phil Neal both made their reds debuts as we held Everton to a goalless draw at Goodison Park. Four for Jack 1946 - Jack Balmer bagged all four goals in our 4-1 win at Derby County. This was the second of his three hat-tricks in consecutive games. His third goal was his fiftieth reds strike, while Raich Carter’s late consolation was the last of his six strikes against the reds. Billy’s record 1957 – Billy Liddell played his 431st League game for the reds as we lost a Second Division encounter 3-1 at Ipswich Town, a ne

Another record for St. Michael 2003 - Michael Owen became England’s youngest ever player to reach fifty caps. He captained the side, bagging a brace, including a penalty, as they beat Slovakia 2-1 in a Euro 2004 qualifier at the Riverside Stadium. Steven Gerrard and ex-red David James also played. He also became England’s youngest ever captain for a competitive international. On the same day, Vladimír Šmicer netted as the Czech Republic thumped Moldova 5-0 in another qualifier in Olomouc, with clubmate Milan Baroš also playing. Future red Robbie Keane struck as the Republic of Ireland b
