  1. Shanks in charge 1959 - Bill Shankly took over as Manager, thirteen days after his appointment was announced. Words cannot fully explain his importance to the history of Liverpool Football Club, but his honours as reds boss included three League titles, two FA Cups, the UEFA Cup and the Second Division championship.     Titi’s tears 1999 - Titi Camara scored the only goal of the game at home to West Ham United, and then broke down in tears as he celebrated. He later revealed that his father had died earlier that day, “That goal was for my dad. It contributed to an extremely emotional day in my life. I did not want to let my team-mates down, which is why I insisted on playing. With Michael Owen and Robbie Fowler both injured, they needed me.” On the same day, Michael Foley played for the Irish Under-16’s as they beat Switzerland 1-0 in a European Championships qualifier in Dublin.     Happy birthdays 1961 - Ian Rush was born in St. Asaph. His club record 346 strikes in 660 games across two spells with the reds helped us to five League titles, the European Cup, three FA Cups, five League Cups, two FA Charity Shields and the Screen Sport Super Cup, after signing from Chester for just £300,000 in May 1980, moving on to Leeds United in May 1996. 1943 - Chris Lawler was born in Liverpool. He joined the reds in October 1960 and struck 61 times in 549 reds appearances, helping us to win two League titles, an FA Cup, UEFA Cup and FA Charity Shield before moving to Portsmouth

    Happy birthday Mr. Kennedy 1954 - Alan Kennedy was born in Sunderland. He is best remembered for his winning strikes in two European Cup Finals, but also won five League titles, four League Cups and three FA Charity Shields after moving from Newcastle United for £330,000 in August 1978, making 359 appearances and notching twenty times before joining his hometown club for £100,000 in September 1985. 1911 - Frank O’Donnell was born in Buckhaven, Fife. He struck once in two Wartime appearances for the reds. He gained six Scotland caps as well as scoring for Preston North End in every round
