I was just going to say this. The links to Thiago are recent; the contract extension offer to Gini go back months ago (if the rumours were to be believed). It may be that Gini wanted more money and we’ve said take it or leave it, or he just fancies a new challenge. Either way, he’s been a great bit of business for us.

This season we were and we’ve been lucky with injuries.

You defend FSG for not spending money for a second year running because the current financial situation is unclear, yet you blindly assume we’ll easily come top 4 when it’s pretty clear our rivals are going to spend big improving their squads? All it will take is an injury or 2 to our main players and I think we’ll struggle because the squad isn’t good enough.

I think Norwich are interested in Larouci so I assume a deal can be done.

I can almost see it now; we have a s*** season compared to our main rivals who all invested heavily improving their squads this summer. Come next summer our earnings will be down as we haven’t won anything so either can’t afford new players or players will want more money to join us as they’ll say they’re more likely to win stuff with other clubs, or we end up losing 1 or 2 of our main players and have to start rebuilding again. Either way, there will be a reason not to spend money again.
