Goss makes history 1994 - Norwich City’s Jeremy Goss became the last player to score in front of the standing Kop as the Canaries won 1-0. Our first League Cup 1981 - We claimed our first League Cup by beating West Ham United 2-1 in a Villa Park replay. Paul Goddard opened the scoring for the Hammers before Kenny Dalglish equalised with a glorious volley, to complete his record of scoring in every round. Liddell signs on 1939 - Billy Liddell signed as a professional at Anfield. He went on to strike 228 times in 534 games. His only club honour was the League title in 1947, although he also played in the FA Cup Final three years later. 1957 – Keeper Tommy ‘The Flying Pig’ Lawrence signed for the reds as an amateur, turning professional in October 1957.
