IP Throttling

Perhaps an unusual question but has anyone tried to throttle the IP bandwidth at the user end? Looking to quieten the children late at nite from 20-22pm onwards, to curb netflix and general internet action, any ideas?

Short of IP blocking, any means of doing this easily?

Not a complete severance of service but something I could fob off on a 'poor internet connection' for example, rather a more 'ohh the service might be down' kind of thing, ideally to keep the peace around here! For example a staggering really s*** netflix steam?

Prohibition doesn’t work

And micro-management is the work of psychopaths....like The Joker, or Hitler

When will people learn?

Sorry if that sounds harsh

On the plus side, I run workshops on this kind of thing, and results are guaranteed

another plus side they could use your IP at 3am and I could get some kip!

and if successful, you could, er, 'employ' them!

win-win!

Pint?

Yeah sure

It sounds like we’re talking about the residential package

A little dearer but you’ll see amazing results

Yes you can, you just need a router that supports 'Quality of Service - QOS'.
You can then specify it by IP, MAC Address (actual physical device) etc. Depending on your router make/model you'll just need to enable it in the settings.
