Extreme weather

Recommended Posts

Having never lived in a very cold country I am not sure what is better, hot/cold, but we are having a hot spell and tomorrow is going to be a horrible 45C day. The record for Adelaide is 46, and the forecasters say it could be broken.

Hot is better cos you just keep the air con on and lie in the pool all day

I didn't think I was a hot weather person before I moved to Australia, I was actually worried I wouldn't like the constant heat.

Hot is definitely better.

Much as I love visiting Australia, (for me) it's just too hot to live there. And it's full of f***ing Australians.

that's why I had a slow start today

started the car and left it for 5 mins to defrost, left home at 9.30

still had to take a circuitous route through Bootle and it took 40 mins instead of the normal 23

people can't seem to drive in weather without crashing

so I might work from home until this crisis has passed

At least you can wrap up against the cold. You can do f*ck all about b*starding heat!

Air conditioning is ok, and my house doesn’t get too hot, but the heat makes it tiring and you have a lack for energy.

I am not sure I would like to have to shovel snow though.

yeah fortunately we are moving offices in the cotton exchange tomorrow and Friday so we have all been given the days off while the company comes in and shifts the stuff and sets up the network... good timing really

Was in Perth five years ago and it was 48 degrees. Wasn’t fun but Singapore at 36 and 90% humidity was worse.

I once left my car on the roof of a shopping centre in 45 degrees. It had black leather seats and I was wearing shorts. Will never make that mistake again

We shoveled another 4-6 inches of the white stuff last night when it was about 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Luckily the snow had stopped and so had the wind.

We've had enough and we're heading south in 2020. Florida might be f***ed up in so many ways, but there's no snow and no bitterly cold winters. I can deal with a big old bunch of rednecks.
