Sami Hyypiä has entered the club's all-time Top 40 for number of League games played, having played at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday. This was his 308th Premiership game for Liverpool, placing him third amongst our current squad, behind Jamie Carragher (373) and Steven Gerrard (314).
Of these 308 appearances to date, just seven have been from off the bench, while he has so far bagged 21 League goals for the club, with the most recent coming from a header as he opened the scoring in a 4-0 win over Bolton at Anfield last December.
His 308th League outing drew him level with Welsh international left-back Ray Lambert who joined the reds when he was just thirteen, and went on to make 341 first-team appearances in total, including being part of the 1947 title-winning side, something Sami will be hoping to emulate this season.
It will take a further 23 Premiership games before the 35-year old Finn can break into the club's all-time Top 30 League appearance holders, and he would then still be more than 300 games behind Ian Callaghan, who is likely to forever remain the Liverpool player who tops the appearance charts.
