YNWA takes a look back at previous memorable away League meetings as we prepare to visit Bolton Wanderers for the 55th time in the League on Sunday. We have a reasonable record against them there, having won sixteen, drawn thirteen and been beaten 25 times, although we have only won once at the Reebok.

Winning the title
We claimed our fourth League title at Burnden Park in April 1923. Dick Forshaw's goal earned us a share of the spoils, giving us enough points so that neither Sunderland nor Huddersfield Town could catch us.

Debutants
Xabi Alonso and Luis García both made their reds debuts as we lost 1-0 in August 2004. Milan Baroš scored two goals on his League debut in September 2002, as we narrowly avoided succumbing to our fourth straight 2-2 draw with Emile Heskey grabbing our late winner our only victory to date at the Reebok. Albert Stubbins scored on his reds bow in September 1946, as we won 3-1 with Berry Nieuwenhuys and Jack Balmer also on target.

Right-back Robert Done and left-winger George Pither both made their reds debuts as we lost 2-1 in January 1927, with Dick Edmed nabbing our consolation and Fred Baron playing his twentieth and final reds game. In September 1911, John Bovill and half-back Harry Lowe both debuted in our 2-1 defeat, with Jack Parkinson grabbing our goal.

Sander's farewell
Sander Westerveld played his 103rd and final reds game as we lost 2-1 in August 2001. He let a late Dean Holdsworth strike evade his grasp to hand the Trotters victory, after Emile Heskey had levelled the scores.

Coming from behind
We were held in January 2006 to end a run of ten consecutive League wins, as Steven Gerrard converted a penalty and Luis García was also on target, with ex-red El-Hadji Diouf also netting. We also came from behind twice in February 2004, with Sami Hyypiä and Steven Gerrard on target. Bolton's first goal, scored by Nicky Hunt, was the 200th League goal conceded since Gérard Houllier took sole charge of the reds.

Most recently
We lost 2-0 in September 2006, with the home side opening the scoring from a free-kick incorrectly awarded against Pepe Reina for handball. The reds also hit the post through Xabi Alonso.

New stadiums to visit
Our first visit to the Reebok Stadium in November 1997 ended in a 1-1 draw. Robbie Fowler netted our goal in the first minute, and was also sent off with a quarter of an hour left. A Stan Collymore goal had given us a 1-0 victory on our final visit to Burnden Park in December 1995. Our first trip to Burnden Park ended in a 1-0 defeat back in December 1894.

Big wins
We won 4-1 in May 1979, thanks to strikes from David Johnson, Kenny Dalglish and a brace from Ray Kennedy. 47 years earlier, we were comprehensively trounced 8-1 in our final game of the season, with Daniel McRorie nabbing our consolation. This is one of just five occasions we have conceded eight or more goals in a game. Our record win at Wanderers came in September 1907, as goals from Jim Bradley, Robert Robinson and a Joe Hewitt brace gave us a 4-0 win.
